A homeowner searching for a new property uses one app. Buying appliances for it requires another. Hiring a contractor to renovate means a third. Finding design inspiration is a fourth. Visualizing what a renovated room would actually look like? That's a fifth platform entirely.
The client came to us with a vision: consolidate all five verticals into a single cross-platform mobile app — not a loose aggregation of features, but a genuinely unified super app where users move seamlessly between discovering a property, purchasing products for it, hiring professionals, getting inspired by design ideas, and generating AI-powered visualizations of their own spaces.
The technical challenge was as ambitious as the product vision. The app needed to integrate real-time MLS data with 1M+ property listings, support a quote-based service marketplace with vendor matching, deliver an AI-powered image generation engine with 20–45 second processing times, and handle complex subscription tiers with a multi-level gamified referral system — all from a single React Native codebase.
The core problem: Platform fragmentation was killing user engagement. Users abandoned transactions because switching between 5–6 different apps created friction at every stage. High commission fees on traditional marketplaces burdened small businesses. No existing solution offered AI-powered visualization tools for design decisions — leading to hesitation and stalled projects.

Integrated e-commerce platform for home-related products — appliances, smart home devices, furniture, hardware, and outdoor equipment — powered by a third-party commerce network. The marketplace is contextually aware: products featured in design inspiration photos link directly to purchase pages. Users who just bought a property see relevant product recommendations. The entire commerce experience is embedded, not bolted on.

Quote-based service marketplace connecting homeowners with qualified professionals across home repair, construction, landscaping, and cleaning. Users select a service category, answer structured qualification questions, and the system matches them with relevant vendors. Vendors express interest, submit detailed quotes, and users compare side-by-side before selecting. Payment is processed through the platform with cashback rewards released upon job completion — incentivizing repeat usage and closing the engagement loop.

Curated gallery of thousands of high-quality interior and exterior design photos — filterable by room type, style, and color palette. Users create and save mood boards for their projects, share collections with contractors, and discover direct product links to marketplace items featured in inspiration photos. AI-powered recommendations personalize the feed based on saved items and browsing behavior. This feature is the glue connecting discovery to action: see a kitchen you love, buy the fixtures, hire a contractor, visualize the result.

AI-powered visualization tool that generates photorealistic transformations of a user's actual rooms. Users upload a photo of their space, select a design style, room type, and color scheme — and the system generates a high-quality visualization of what the renovated room could look like. Powered by GPT Image 1 for photorealistic generation and GPT-4 Mini for room analysis, hosted on Azure AI Foundry. Generation takes 20–45 seconds with async processing — users continue browsing while images render, with push notifications on completion.

Multi-tier referral system engineered for viral growth. Tier-1 direct referrals earn cash revenue share plus platform credits with multipliers from 1.5x to 3x. Tier-2 referrals receive tokens, badges, and coupons. Tier-3 earns leaderboard recognition. Milestone rewards escalate from a free Premium month at 5 referrals to lifetime Premium access and exclusive merchandise at 500. The referral engine is designed to reduce customer acquisition costs by turning engaged users into the primary growth channel.

The architecture is built to scale independently. Each of the five features runs as its own microservice, meaning the AI visualization engine can auto-scale during peak demand without affecting the property search or marketplace services. A polyglot database strategy — PostgreSQL for transactional data, MongoDB for flexible schemas, Redis for caching — ensures each data model gets the storage layer it actually needs.
